About our tablet testing

This was a straightforward, in-house observation—not an independent laboratory study.

  1. Selected products

    We purchased commonly available drain-pan tablet brands through commercial and retail channels.

  2. Placed in cups

    Each product was placed in its own small cup so its dissolution could be observed.

  3. Timed the result

    We used a timer to record how long each tablet remained before dissolving completely.

Most tablets had dissolved completely. Only two had a substantial amount of tablet remaining after one hour. The longest-lasting tablet in the comparison lasted eight hours while submerged in water.

What this shows: how the tested products behaved under this simple comparison. Results can vary with conditions, and this observation should not be read as a claim about every tablet product or every field application.

SIMPLE PLACEMENT

Put it where the water enters.

Place PanGuard near the evaporator coil where condensate enters the drain pan. If the coil is not accessible, place the treatment in the pan where water enters, away from the drain outlet.

  • Choose the correct size by system tonnage.
  • Place in the drain pan without blocking the drain.
  • Replace during scheduled preventative maintenance.
